Founder Story

I am deeply rooted in preserving handloom traditions.

A love letter to Heritage Sarees

Growing up, I watched my mother drape sarees with such grace and confidence. Behind every saree lay stories of artisans, generations of craft, and a connection to our heritage that felt sacred. When I saw these traditions fading, I knew I had to act.

Ammana Seragu (Mother's Saree) is my way of honoring those memories and supporting the artisans who keep this craft alive. Every saree in our collection is chosen with care—selected not just for beauty, but for the story it carries and the hands that wove it.

I believe that when you wear handloom, you're not just wearing fabric. You're wearing history, supporting livelihoods, and celebrating the women and men who've preserved these crafts for generations.

Why Maakidrapes

  • Authentic Sourcing

Every saree is hand-picked from artisan cooperatives and heritage weaving communities across India.

  • Fair Pricing for Artisans

We work directly with weavers to ensure they receive fair compensation for their craft.

  • Sustainable & Timeless

Handloom is naturally sustainable, low-impact fashion that lasts for generations.

  • Stories That Matter

Each saree comes with the story of its origin, weaving technique, and cultural significance.
